Noel Herbert is a songwriter and film/game score composer originally from Detroit, MI and currently based in Los Angelos, CA. Noel has an educational background in creative songwriting and received his bachelor’s degree in the field from Falmouth University. His musical styles range from acoustic sounds to diverse electronic genres. Such as, Pop, Hip/Hop and Psychedelic Electro Indie. It is best described as free flowing thoughts from the human consciousness transmitted into colorful and flavorful frequencies. His lyrics are written through self-awareness and his internal experience of the outside world.

As a film/game score composer Noel takes in the emotion of moving pictures and feeds them with sounds of strings, synthesizers, percussion and other live instrumentation. By capturing the feeling of each individual element of a film, commercial or game he adds the appropriate music score to further bring out the intended reaction to collect the full attention of the audience.


Under the name Grass Bat is when Noel releases his ever-growing emotional ecosystem in the form of an experimental indie electronica echo. Noel self-records and produces this project with a mixture of synthesized sounds and live instrumentation. The music of Grass Bat can only be described as a dream or a beautiful nightmare.
